19062011 Quiet day in Taipei

Headed to Taipei again today, but because we were all exhausted from our trip to Taichung yesterda, had a very hard time trying to get up to catch the early train out. Even dozed off at the station until the train arrived, then slept all the way till Zhudong. Changing from the train to the bus which would bring us to Hsinchu, fell in and out of sleep and enroute to our destination, heard a lady was calling out to the bus to wait for her children which were evidently late, and some other ladies were scolding the bus driver for holding up everyone. She was complaining that it was not fair to hold up a whole bus of people just for 2, and that it was their fault for not paying attention to the time. The poor bus driver even had to make a turn because he couldn’t stop too long at the designated spot due to the oncoming traffic, which further irritated that angry lady. When the two children finally boarded the bus, she didn’t hesitate to give them a piece of her mind.

Slept all the way to Hsinchu then changed trains again to Banqiao. My friend was running late, so got myself breakfast at 7-11 before he arrived. We then took the MRT to Shantao, and walked a certain distance to our destination. It was a little secluded, so we had to stopped at a 7-11 and a police station to ask for directions before we finally found it.

The main reason for visiting this place was for a kimono sale they had. Unfortunately they didn’t allow any pictures, but they sure did had a lot of things on for sale, with some being rather pricey.

Wrapped up my shopping, then headed out for a drink at a coffee shop with air conditioning because we were sick of the hot sun. Had a really good chat since it was some time since I had the company of another fellow Malaysian! After lounging in the coffee shop for about an hour or so, we decided to head to Taipei Main Station to have a look at the shopping malls.

Our dinner was a noodle shop hidden in a small, side alley right behind the large shopping malls. The soup was actually delicious and much more better than the one we had yesterday! Also, I was given a generous portion of pork ribs. But also because the portion was too large, it took me a very long time to finish everything. We then headed to Fuzhong station because I wanted to get a hair cut, and my friend offered to introduce his stylist to me but unfortunately they were closed when we got there.

Decided to head back to Neiwan instead, and was back in the hostel by 7.45pm. As usual, spent the rest of the day sorting out stuffs and finishing up reports, because the end of our internship was near.
